Origins

Like many great Australian start-ups,  Infinity began @ Mario's Café,  Fitzroy, Melbourne in 1994 as a casual breakfast meeting  between the founding partners, Peter Jon Hartshorne and Yong The. Both having just finished working on a multi-year project with Telstra, establishing one of the country's first and largest CRM environments.

With the accumulated knowledge, we agreed on the terms of a Start-Up, obviously without funding, and having never heard of Customer Relationship Management [CRM]. We thought Technology Enabled Customer Management to be a pretty decent 'go to market label'.  The first business plan was detailed on the cafe's linen table cloth [for which we ended up having to pay an outrageous fee of $10 for] and that became our blueprint for our proud company of two.

Our very first client was a new Energy Retailer, United Energy where we met retail energy thought leaders Phil Marshall, Peter Dean and of course the illustrious Mr Ballu Khan. As consulting embryos we were thrown straight into the deep-end  alongside IBM and then Anderson Consulting. They obviously had much better slide decks, but the overall experience helped us refine our values of independence, confidentiality, speed, highly skilled practitioners and most importantly demonstrable outcomes for clients and their customers. 

Many more lattes, frequent flyer points,  power-point slides and project plans later and we have now delivered over  250 engagements in four continents around the world. 

We are now considered as the pre-eminent independent professional services firm specializing in CRM, capability, products, platforms and partners to meet our clients future needs. Another benefit of working around the globe is the on-going belief that we are in-deed leaders in this field in this country.  

Incidentally, when back home in Melbourne, we still fondly visit Mario's, and the table cloth remains prominent in our office as it remains surprisingly relevant for the business today.
